MESOTHERAPY FOR CELLULITE TREATMENT
Cellulite, in a few words, is the accumulation of fat and water beneath the skin which results in the reduction of connective tissue elasticity and the well-known orange-peel appearance on the skin surface. It is categorized in several grades, according to its extent and severity.
Cellulite can occur in isolated areas, such as buttocks, thighs and calves as well as the abdomen and inner arms. It can also occur in more than one areas (the most common case), or even in the whole body. There appears to be a hormonal component to its presentation (hormonal disorder) or iron deposition in particular areas. It should be noted that cellulite does not only affect women, it is seen among males, as well.
Mesotherapy for Cellulite aims at the correction of those symptoms, combating the problem itself: the accumulation of adipocytes (fat cells) in the targeted area.
The treatment involves injecting a mesotherapy solution into the middle layers of the skin with the use of fine, special needles. Mesotherapy solution contains substances such as caffeine, vitamins, artichoke, carnitine, glycolic acid etc, which are ready-to-use solutions or can be combined by the specialist Dermatologist.
Mesotherapy for Cellulite primarily aims at the breakdown of adipose cells and their removal through the lymph (lipolysis) or their shrinkage. The procedure results in immediate, radical improvement or complete cellulite elimination (depending on the extent and the causes of the condition).
Mesotherapy for Cellulite is a typically painless procedure (depending on the patient’s threshold for pain), as very small and thin needles are used and the solution administered causes no pain. Also, an anaesthetic can be added to the solution to minimize discomfort.
The injection procedure lasts for 15-30 minutes, depending on the area and the extent of the problem. Slight redness or swelling may appear topically, which subside in a few hours or days and the patient can immediately resume his daily activities.
Treatment requires 10-12 sessions every 7-10 days for a satisfactory outcome, depending on the extent of the problem.
An initial consultation with Dermatologist MD, Msc Demetrios Karafoulidis will help you analyze the condition, evaluate its extent, draw up an individualized treatment plan and suggest the number of sessions required for your expected outcome.
